Do or do not, there is no try.

It's Saturday and the brain cells were sweated out at the massive fairgrounds yard sale this morning, ensuring that I would blend. As if GirlChild in her red, fuzzy sweatpants rolled to the knee hadn't already done that. After perusing other people's trash, it was time to leave when the sweat bead rolled down my nose onto a book and we had to take off before the squat lady on the lawn chair managed to unwedge her hips and make me buy it. Come on BoyChild! Don't let those flip-flops slow you down! Earlene's put down her Big Gulp and is making to leave her shade tent in our direction!!

Because I'm enjoying my full-blast-ozone-depleting AC in front of the computer just now, I decided to take the weenie way out of blogging for the day and take the geek test here. Just wanted to confirm what I already knew.

I scored at 31.55819% ensuring my standing at 'TOTAL GEEK'.

It helps when you have a history of watching 'The X-Files', actually own Scully and Mulder dolls and quoted Yoda in conversation.

Have a great weekend folks! I'm off to take the kids swimming.... In our neighbor's pool.... Since they're away for the weekend.

OMG... Mulder and Scully dolls, thats so awesome! What ever happened in the one episode, where Mulder found his sister?? Thats the last time I saw that. I remember crying and they played that song by Moby...
Anywho, have fun at the neighbors pool...

I'm glad to see that someone else enjoys swimming pools too. I also enjoy my neighbors sprinklers and Cosmo magazine when they're away.

I appreciate you stopping by my blog and leaving some kind words for me and my kitty. I'll be sure to stop by and leave you some more comment love as well!
Don't you love being mediocre? :)

That quiz was a lot longer than I thought it was going to be haha. I scored a pitiful 11%. I thought I was geekier than that lol.

Thank you so much for your very kind words! You were my first comment (besides my mom's comment) in my blog experience~ I greatly appreciate it~! Very funny post you had here!

Kelly - Oh, we did have fun at their pool! It was soooo hot today.

Suze - I gotta do a post on my neighbors one day. They really are most awesome.

Catalysta - Welcome! And yes, mediocre just about sums me up. ; )

Cassie - I knew I was doomed when I was able to check off 'programmed a calculator in math class'.

Amy - Welcome! And thanks. I'll be swinging back by your blog later on.

Didn't everyone watch X Files at some point? That guy was hot!

I gave up on yard sales. When you first get there the people look so hopeful at you that you're gonna buy something but then it's all junk and when you go to leave they give you the death glare. It's all very uncomfortable for me.

Have a great weekend!

Stopped by and decided to answer the survey... I scored a 1.7% I am surprised the site didn't kick me off... I do much better sittign at the pool and "people watch". Enjoyed the blog...

You are way cooler than me; I only scored as 29.98028% and the scary part? Almost none of it is related to computers! LOL

That was fun.....yet frightening. Hope you had a relaxing weekend and took some time off for you.

Peace out!

I guess the fact that I "want Mulder" isn't quite enough to make me a full-fledged geek.

I scored only 8.5% and it called me a poser. I'm sorry, but I was in marching band and I went to band camp(in high school AND college), so that should qualify me as at least having geek tendencies, right there. And I could name 5 hobbits.

My Papi and I used to be huge X-Files freaks!

When we were first married that was our Friday night tradition. Pizza and X-Files and drooling over the hotness of Mulder. Well, Papi didn't really participate in the drooling thing but I know that deep down even he had to concede that Mulder is a slice of Hunky Nerd Pie.

I would be honored to spread anti-Monkey Butt powder all over David Duchovny if ever given the chance.

Tracy - Yeah, but at least at the fairgrounds you can sorta of slide by folks a little easier because there are so many people. It's still trashy though.

Sunshine - As geeky as I am, I enjoy a good pool sitting/people watching too!

Q.Goog - Scary! If it wasn't computers, you must be playing a shitload of Magic: The Gathering. LOL

JD - I think we all wanted Mulder.

Shelley - Damned straight! I believe that there are plenty of other things that could throw you into geek category that they left out!

Elastic -Duchovny..*drool*...whenever I used to watch X-Files, I'd get pissed if people called me on the phone during. Unless it was one of the super creepy episodes when I was afraid to sleep by myself.

How cool! I'm a super geek at 49.7%. Thanks for visiting my sites! I like the look of your blog; I'll be checking in regularly.

Wow. I took the test. 33.33% I got mad points for the roleplaying I did in High School, but my dear, sweet mega dork hubby scored a 59.89%.

He's a ranking officer in Starfleet. Like the kind that goes to conferences and wears Star Trek uniforms. I turn my head and close my eyes when that stuff is going down.

I thought for sure I would score much higher than the 11% I got. I guess I just have Geek Tendencies. Could be the case with my career bouncing back and forth between Accountant (nerd) and Florist/Designer (wanna be cool chic).

LOVE the yard sale story! Is Earlene at all the yard sales? I swear she is!!

Sean C said...

haha, sweat beads on Earlene's trash is a no no. Tried the test,I marked like 3 things on the first section... I can't believe I would fail at being a geek... I thought being a geek was a fall back club! If you can't make it elsewhere become a geek? I'm worthless! XP

Dayyam Brightmyer! Did you INVENT the computer? You go in your geekhood girl!

Adriane - LOL - you need to blog about his Star Trek status! I need to get Babycakes to take the test, but he's more of a World of Warcraft / D&D guy.

Di - Earlene is Everyredneckwoman. Back in the day when I delivered car parts, we used to call most of the women in the industry 'Earlene'. Everyone but me of course. Right?

Sean - There's nothing fallback about geekdom. You have to work at it. For realz.

Great neighbors sharing their stuff like that!

Although I know who Scully and Mulder are, I have to admit I never had the time to follow the series. Does that mean I have to give up membership in Geeks Anon? Do I have to turn in my pocket protector? Do I now have to unlearn touch typing?

Oh God, I'm such a failure.

I LOVE Yoda quotes! I guess that makes me pretty geeky too:).

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Glad you find my pain amusing (lol).

Well I scored a 12.2288% - Geekish Tendencies. Guess you & brother got the geeky genes. :) I'm sure whe would get at least 50% on this. Stay cool, I wish I had a neighbor with a pool. Oh yea I lost $20 at poker, but had a blast. Can't wait to play more. I see why you are addicted.

I think I want to remain in blissful ignorance of my Geek Level. My collection of Johnny Depp-related action figures reached an all-time high courtesy of my best friend. There's, like, a million Jack Sparrows and Edward Scissorhands' having some sort of convention on my desk at work.

Oh yes-- blissful ignorance. :)

Hey, not to worry. I'm sure we'll find plenty of trouble to get into in Chicago on our own...

Stay cool this week!

That was a long test...I have geekish tendencies but have not totally crossed over. Yet. In some ways I am a wannabe. Thanks for stopping by my place!

OMG. Someone else has Scully and Mulder dolls? My husband gave them to me like 9 years ago (probably for Valentine's Day or something). I flipped out when I lost Scully's cell phone when I had them proudly displayed at my work desk. *sniff*

I scored 26.63%, also Total Geek. Thanks for pointing us to the quiz!

Anonymous said...

I scored 17%. But only because I don't have any useful geek knowledge, just the social ones. Like having an accordion and being really good at Trivia. Honestly, I don't see the connection. Okay, I sort of do.

Mary Witzl said...

This is so unfair: I only scored 25.6% and I reckon I got penalized bigtime because of my computer issues. I really hit pay dirt on geek-related employment, foreign language knowledge, collections and going to museums and studying on my own, etc., but they still discriminate against us computer incapables and I think someone ought to do something about it.

Maybe I'll start a club. (Cool: we can have our own pins and badges and stuff!)
