Lord of the Flies

Took a shower last night - got out - found SIX flies buzzing around. How, in fact, does a colony of flies establish itself in my bathroom like that without me noticing at some point during the day? Maybe the colony of ants I'm working on eradicating invited them in for "good times". Or you might be thinking, "Alice's bathroom must resemble a rest stop on I-95." UNTRUE.

And so I swatted for a while which lead me to some very deep statistical analysis on the probability of hitting a fly with a random swat pattern. I say random, because it seemed as hard as I was trying to aim for them, it never quite connected. In the end, the flies seemed to prefer landing on my left hand vanity light for a break which is where 5 of the 6 met the swatter. I did manage to smack one out of the air and straight into the garbage can. SWEET!

Day Two Posting

Holy Heck - I've only just begun (go Carpenters) and I already don't want to write stuff. Maybe because today was a little less than moderately interesting. The kids and I did watch a British show together that features two women who specialize in cleaning extremely nasty homes. We managed to mock enough cat poop on the carpet and skank in general that I might not need to worry about how they'll turn out. They were properly horrified by the featured nastiness and groaned in just the right places!

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to, " said the Cat.

Take Two

Where does one start on this empty blank canvas? Theme of the blog perhaps? I'm simply fascinated by Alice in Wonderland - the leaps in logic and wording.

"Rule Forty-two. All persons more than a mile high to leave the court."
"Well I shan't go at any rate," said Alice, "besides, that's not a regular rule - you invented it just now."
"It's the oldest rule in the book," said the King.
"Then it ought to be Number One," said Alice.

And because I am more of a Math-y person rather than an English-y person, writing this blog may prove grueling. Let's hope I grow as a personal documenter.
