This didn't scan as clearly as I would have liked.
His reply that you can barely read...

"No, because it is not consistent? Damn I don't know this stuff. HA HA. was I close?"

LOL! Awesome! I love when kids write "don't know" on their tests!

Alas, these will be the types of answers I expect to see on the tests my son brings home when he gets into high school. He's already perfecting his brand of test humor!

I love these! I love the perfect squares!

Well, it's better than cheating!
This kid is simply taking "Honesty is the best policy" to heart. Give him an E for effort.

The best is when they write dow a question mark... or since I am at the Third grade level the parents, after receiving the tests, will write my child didn't know the answer.....

HA! HA!

Oh how I wish I had a blog when I was a teacher!

That's awesome. Love the perfect squares. Is that actually a wrong answer, though? Hmmmm. I guess you did say "perfect" squares. And while they are squares, they probably aren't perfect.

Those squares could probably be a little less rectangular-- but you have to be impressed how the student thought outside the box. HAHAHAHA

Oh, dear. I would maybe have to poke my eyeballs out.

You mean those answers are wrong?

Camille said...

Nice. Sounds like me in high school.

Unknown said...

Damn. That is funny. I would be such a bad teacher cause I would give them full credit for the perfect squares one.

Can I come to your class...I love Algebra and teachers with a sense of humor.

This, my friend, is math that I can believe in.

That's hilarious but honest answer...

First of all, I've missed you! Second, when I saw algebra problems, I panicked. Poor kid reminds me of myself. Now I feel like I need to track down my high school algebra teacher and apologize. :)

Oh, this is so funny. Little do your kids know what great blog fodder they're providing!

I hope you're enjoying your Columbus Day. A day off, I hope.

Three perfect squares?
1. Lawrence Welk. I don't care, the guy was uncool!
2. Richard Nixon. Ok, he's dead, but he was boooring.
3. John McCain. Ok, he's practically dead and he's angry, and he's boooring and uncool.

Am I right?

I used to give partial credit to kids who made me laugh with their test answers. That was in college though...might piss off the parents of the high schoolers.

That is the funniest thing ever!

OMG I used to do that shit in high school. Especially in Spanish class: "yo no se". I still remember one test asking the name of the Territory between 2 Incan tribes. Me: "The Inter-Incan Territory. :)"

We've missed you!

Queen Goob said...

So I've sat here for some time trying to figure out what's wrong with the squares.....

Sorry I haven't been around, looks like you've been a tad busy, too.

Missed ya!

Believe me, that guy has lots of brothers here. I get all kinds of nonsense when I ask for straight answers. I practically feed the kids the correct responses I'm so easy on them, and STILL I get stuff like this! These kids have no idea! Back when I was in college and professors were bad-ass nasties just itching to fail us...

Sigh...
