Vamp News Twilight Alert

While 'Twilight' by Stephenie Meyer is not my most favoritest vamp series (that would be held by J.R. Ward and the Black Dagger Brotherhood), I still enjoyed them and was alerted by a friend that the trailer for the movie due out in December has just been released. If this interests you at all, you can check it out here. I'm really digging the guy they chose for Edward. *hubba*hubba*

If vamps (and the paranormal) are your thing - I'd also recommend Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse / Southern Vampire series and Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. I'll just go ahead and warn my faint-hearted readers that J.R. Ward and Kresley Cole are on the smuttier side of the genre.

Black Dagger folks (if there are any of you out there) - I will be in hibernation on June 3rd with the release of 'Lover Enshrined'. Will re-emerge from my hidey hole in the bathroom when I'm done.

I believe I've probably read most of the paranormal good stuff, but if you know of another awesome writer that I may have missed - fill me in!!!

NEW **The Bloggess has just posted a very funny vampire video from YouTube.**

I was discussing the Twilight series with another blogger and I have to admit to loving the stories. I don't think her writing is the greatest but the story is awesome!

I will be buyin' the books you are suggesting since I know I'll be a vampire soon. ;o)

My daughters and I read the 3 books so far of the Twilight series last summer. Then we ensnared my SIL's into the Twilight web. We're working on getting the grandmas involved so we can obsess together. :)

Pre-ordering Breaking Dawn? Definitely
Watching the trailer over and over? Yep, that too.

(Papi thinks Stephenie Meyer ripped off Underworld. I still think its amazing for a 30-ish Mormon woman to hit a mass global phenomenon like this.)

I didn't like Robert Pattinson as Edward at first. The trailers have convinced me otherwise, though.

Bee - Just make sure you buy the first three, because you'll die when you finish the first and don't have the others.

And ooooo...did you get bitten?!?!

Elastic - Yes, I'll be doing my bookstore camp out for a copy. Unless Amazon can guarantee delivery. Through some brain fart, I ended up in Vegas when the last BDB book came out and had to get a taxi to take me to a bookstore and prayed they would have it.

But wait - isn't the Infidel Woman a mass global phenom?

I need to see what else Robert Pattinson was in - I don't recognize him.

Wow -I've totally missed this whole vampire thing. I'm a die-hard Stephen King fan (I know, I know). Are they quick-paced? because I can't take slow. I've been MIA from my "Book Club" for 5 months straight because their picks are so BORING.

Sue - They all have good pace, but I would say that Charlaine Harris' books are a tad slower (but not in a bad way). I love her writing because of her southern twang.

Have you read the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich? They are freakin' hilarious. I would say that you have to work past the first few books, but she just gets funnier.

He was Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies. Looks a bit different here, though.

Gizmo - Oh yeah!!!! And I always thought he was nice to look at in HP too.

Interesting! The only vampire novels I've ever read were Anne Rice's books. I loved those. And if there are smutty vampire novels out there? I'm in!

I loved Anne Rice and then she sort of lost me. (But 'Interview With A Vampire' is still one of my favs). That happened with Laurell Hamilton's Anita Blake series too which started off SO WELL and then just disintegrated.

Check out the BDB, you'll be glad you did. ; )

I'm definitely going to look into those recommendations. I read Twilight, but am waiting for the rest to come out in paperback to get them. I really enjoyed Twilight but Bella annoys me to no end. Edward yes, Bella no. I hope she improves in later books. She puts the 'mo in emo.

Memarie - I agree. Bella gets on my nerves. Check out the others and let me know what you think.
