The Cut

Don't hold your breath - anti-climactic post about my first use of an electric hair trimmer.

*NOTE*

1) The instruction pamphlet left me wanting.
2) I was too timid to use anything but the largest guide on the trimmer.
3) BoyChild has an aversion to hair particles touching him and made for a poor first test subject.

We started off with hair that looked like this:

Notice how GirlChild keeps the paparazzi at bay.

I'd also advise that you don't promise to fully document your use of a hair trimmer unless someone else is manning the camera. BoyChild moving to dodge falling hair, me screaming to keep still and GirlChild trying to watch doesn't make for good photo-ops.

Ultimately, we ended up with a shirtless BoyChild, hair all over the kitchen and I never even really got near his bangs. I think the back and around the ears came out decently enough for a first attempt and I believe I'll get my money's worth out of this gadget.

It's definitely not our magnum opus, but it will do.

Mzuri sana! You did a fine job! There was no video included with your gadget?

Yet I'm left wondering...You don't mention scissors. No follow up with scissors was necessary? And have you set your eye on Babycakes as your next client?

Babycakes has vetoed (so far) me getting near his hair with the trimmers. Scissor follow-up - HAH! I was lucky to get as much done as I did. Video would have been hysterical since every time a hair particle touched BoyChild we had issues. Totally getting one of those capes for the next time!

Hey,

This is much better than my mother's attempts with the clippers and scissors. And fortunately most kids don't have a fine eye for what's even or wacky.
